13 V Tutor- Mr. J Marway

We have all had the most difficult past year. You have shown great determination to soldier on – well done and keep going! We have also had great times as a form group which I will fondly remember. I hope you have a great time at University and you continue working hard. You are all amazing and I will miss you.  Wish you all the best for the future.

Subject: Maths

Dear Year 13 Mathematicians, I am sure you are all excited about starting the next chapter in your lives, many of you are going off to university and some of you are moving on to do apprenticeships, but the reality is you will all be moving on to pastures new. I have known many of you since year 9 and am proud of the young adults you have become and of what you have achieved during your time here at Villiers. It has not been an easy year, but you have all worked tirelessly and have set yourselves up for great futures. I am super proud of every single one of you, it’s been an absolute pleasure watching and helping you grow over these last few years, and I cannot wait to hear your success stories in years to come. Before you go though, I can’t resist giving you a few words of advice: (a) Be brave and positive: Cast your net wide. Be courageous about meeting new people, making new friends, about having a go at something you have not done before.  (b) Don’t be afraid to fail: Learn from your mistakes and persevere. (c) Don’t stop learning: Take a piece of our school with you (not literally). Over time you will have absorbed not only information, knowledge and skills, but also an institution’s values, culture and history. Take that experience and use it to make a difference in the world. (d) Know yourself and stay in touch with who you are: As you get older, you’ll get to know yourself better. Always, always be true to yourself. Never try to be what you are not. Back yourself and be yourself.   Year 13s, I wish you all the very best and good luck with your future endeavors. I won’t say goodbye as I hope to hear from many of you again. Take care . Miss Chughtai (Head of Maths)

To our small but perfectly form band of English Literature students, thank you for your passion, wit, humour and intellect.  You have truly inspired and challenged us with your perspectives and (just about) kept us from freezing in the depths of Winter in the breezy hub.  Your camaraderie and support for one another has been exceptional.  Just as you will miss the ‘talky bits’ we will miss you all too.  Be amazing in all you do.  Ms Welsford and Mr Black.
And to you all, a poem to send you on your way into those wide futures that lay before you.

I will dearly miss you all. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching some of you since year 10 but mostly as year 12’s and yr 13’s. I wish you all a wonderful journey ahead of you. It has been a delight to teach Sumaya, Rosalina, Sunveet, Alshams, Siyani, Roshani, Gurshaan, Jeteendra, Yusuf, Mehakdeep, Harpeet, Gurpreet, Prabhjot, Ummeh, Yukta, Ellee, Zelia, Maneesha and Zaynah in E2 and the DT room 🙂 (class of 2019-2021).  Best wishes,  Mrs Sharif

I never thought I would say goodbye to you so soon, I am incredibly proud of everything you have achieved. I have seen you contribute so much through volunteering to help the years younger than you, your academic work, and with your university applications. You are all good people, so go out and make me proud. I know You have had the most wonderful & difficult end to a school year that we have seen in our life-times and I can say this with confident that you will show great determination to work independently over the coming years. As Dr Seuss says “You have brains in your head and feet in  your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose” thus, will stand you in great stead for the rest of your lives. Make sure that you do something amazing with your free time. Learn a skill, maybe a language, to code or to cook. In 50 years time, you’ll be telling your grandchildren about this time. Don’t let it pass you by. I would like to wish you all the best for the future. Be proud of yourself in all that you do. You have all been a pleasure to guide and teach.  May you go on to be successful in all you do, Good luck. From Ms Pacha

Dear year 13 students, I know this year hasn’t been easy. There are so many expectations and much excitement over the end of the school year. I look at you and realize you aren’t the same “kids” that I welcomed into my classroom last year. You’re all a couple inches taller. You have a different haircut. Your style has changed a little as you’ve grown into yourself a tad bit more. I think of how you’ve learned. You’re reading at a higher level and you can speak with a confidence you didn’t possess last year. I’m proud of the job I’ve done when I realize the “kids” you’ve become, but I can’t help but wonder if I did enough. Could I have done more? Did I prepare you for the road ahead? Did I give it my all? Today, it’s hard to say goodbye. It’s an adjustment to go from welcoming your face at my classroom door each morning to wondering how you’re doing years later. It’s difficult to go from being your safe place to someone you see occasionally in a hallway. I know I am “just” your teacher, but we’ve spent five days a week together over the past year and change is never easy. I hope you’ll remember me. I hope my discipline made you stronger. I hope my kindness made you feel safe. I hope that my classroom was a place where you learned many things and made many friends; I hope it was a place you genuinely like to be. While I’m a little sad to welcome a whole new group next year instead of continuing to know you more, I’ll think of you succeeding where you are. I’ll think of how you’ve grown and how you’ll continue to do so. And I’ll not only think of how much you’ve learned but also how much you’ve taught me as we’ve grown. You’re not the same “kid” I met; you’re different, but that comforts me – I know you can go out there in the “world” and achieve success. I wish you all the very best. Mrs. Gill (Head of Business Studies)

To Our Wonderful Y13 class of 2021! You were in Year 9 when I first met you all, and you’ve all achieved so much in that time and come so far. I’ve loved teaching you, being your form tutor (albeit very briefly) and chatting to you around school.
